The Final Champions Weekend of 2021 Shows Continued Momentum at LakePoint

ATLANTA (September 14, 2021) – Publix is partnering with LakePoint Sports, the premier youth sports destination in the country, for the Publix Fall Flex weekend, set for Friday, Sept. 17 – Sunday, Sept. 19. This will mark the sixth and final event of LakePoint’s 2021 Champions Weekend platform.

Along with the Publix Fall Flex festivities, LakePoint will also host its inaugural Youth Sports Summit on Friday, Sept. 17. At this invite-only event, leaders and influencers will discuss topics and opportunities in the $25 billion youth sports industry.

Elite youth athletes in baseball, volleyball and other sports will compete in front of thousands of fans as well as hundreds of college coaches and pro scouts during the three-day Publix Fall Flex Weekend.

In the Baseball Village, over 60 of the top high school baseball travel teams will participate in the Prep Baseball Reports’ PBR Cup, the must-see baseball tournament of the fall.

Next door in the 170,000 square-foot Champions Center, Rally Volleyball’s Rally High will be in action. This GHSA sanctioned event will feature the top high school volleyball players in the state of Georgia.

“Publix is proud to support the 2021 Champions Weekend featuring Georgia’s high school athletes,” said Brenda Reid, community relations manager for Publix’s Atlanta Division. “Family events like this create great memories and instill a competitive spirit that these young people will carry with them for years to come.”

Beyond the sporting events, the weekend will also feature guest promotions and giveaways, a radio broadcast from the southeast’s top sports talk show 680 the Fan, and much more.

“Publix is the perfect partner for our final Champions Weekend of 2021,” LakePoint Sports Director of Marketing David Pate said. “Both our brands are focused on the guest experience and are excited to have them be the title partner for the Publix Fall Flex weekend.”

Serving as a catalyst for many athletes around the country, many of whom received college scholarships after competing on campus, LakePoint has always, and will continue to, place the health and safety of its athletes, guests, and team members as its utmost priority.

LakePoint takes pride in its ability to safely host top-tier youth athletes and their families. Over the course of the pandemic, the campus has provided young athletes a healthy respite and with opportunities to socialize and compete at the highest levels. We look forward to continuing to find new ways to safely operate, evolve and engage athletes, parents, scouts, and all who visit the LakePoint campus.

Fans, scouts, coaches, and media can catch all the action via LakePoint Live, powered by PlaySight. LakePoint Live features more than 130 HD cameras across campus with over 70 cameras in the Champions Center and 56 cameras across each of the eight major league-sized baseball fields (seven cameras per field) and multiple angles by court or field to catch the live action or download for viewing it later.
