LakePoint Sports to Host Red Top Road Race Presented By Advanced Rehabilitation Physical Therapy

The inaugural 5K event will take place on the LakePoint campus on July 24

ATLANTA (June 17, 2021) – Momentum continues at LakePoint Sports, the premier youth sports destination in the country, as it grows and adds new sports verticals. LakePoint will host its inaugural 5K event, the Red Top Road Race, presented by Advanced Rehabilitation Physical Therapy. Taking place Saturday, July 24, this will be the first time LakePoint, which was recently named a Sports Business Journal’s “Sports Facility of the Year” finalist, hosts a road race.

The Red Top Road Race will be a morning event beginning at the LakePoint Champions Center and ending on the north campus. Race number pick up and day-of registration will begin at 6:30 a.m.; the race will start at 8:30 a.m. and awards will take place at 9:45 a.m.

“Our campus features scenic views of the north Georgia mountains, and I am really excited that we will be able to share it with a new audience,” said Heather Higdon, director of experiential events at LakePoint Sports. “We look forward to showcasing our state-of-the-art venues at LakePoint while creating an opportunity for competition and fun.”

The 5K course winds its way through the LakePoint campus, highlighting the north campus with scenic views and then finishing on a quick downhill. LakePoint welcomes runners, joggers and walkers of all levels to experience the brand-new race. All participants will receive an exclusive race t-shirt.

The Red Top Road Race is a new way for LakePoint to engage running enthusiasts in Georgia and the southeast. Through its new programming, involvement in the community and world-class venues, LakePoint continues to pursue innovation, connection and excellence.
